Industrial software design that ends in a decision
For founders and product leads selling monitoring, inspection and predictive maintenance software. We design your product, website and partner channel so buyers get it in the first demo and engineers act on what it finds.

Detection isn't the product. The decision is.
The platform finds the anomaly and the screen shows a score, a chart and a threshold. Then the customer asks what they're meant to do on Monday morning, and the demo stalls.
Viking AnalyticsScreens that say what to do next
Fleet views ranked by urgency
Assets sorted by where attention is needed rather than by sensor ID. An analyst watching hundreds of machines starts the day with the three that matter.
Role-based views on one data model
Separate screens for the engineer, the planner and the manager, drawing on the same data. Each finds their answer without wading through the others'.
Scores with the reason attached
Every confidence score shows what triggered it and what to check first. A number people can't explain is a number they won't act on.
Alerts that become work orders
The next action sits beside the anomaly, from acknowledging it to raising the job. Detection turns into maintenance without a trip to another system.
Mobile flows for the field
Large targets, short steps and readable contrast for technicians working standing up, outdoors, often one-handed. The tool gets used where the machine is.
A design system your developers keep
Design tokens, a component library and documentation, so a new asset class or sensor type slots in without another settings page.
A market that gets it before the meeting
Your best salesperson shouldn't be the only one who can explain the product.

Viking Analytics: strong technology, fragmented story
Viking Analytics had a working predictive maintenance platform and a market that couldn't tell what it was for. We ran website and go to market, a partner programme and the rebuilt MultiViz 2.0 platform as one engagement, so the product and the story finally said the same thing.
9 months, 3 workstreams, one story
The website, the partners and the platform used to explain Viking three different ways. Now buyers hear it once, and hear it right.

What does UX design for predictive maintenance software involve?
UX design for predictive maintenance software turns an alert into a decision someone will act on. We map who reads each screen (reliability engineer, maintenance planner, plant manager) and what each has to do next. Structure and messaging are settled before the interface is drawn, so a confidence score or threshold means something to the person responsible for the machine, and redesign costs stay low.
How quickly can a design studio understand our technology?
We don't expect your engineers to spend weeks briefing us. The first weeks go on learning the domain directly from the people who build, sell and use the product, and we sit in on customer and prospect calls where that helps. Our work spans vibration analysis, condition monitoring and sensor-based products, so we arrive already asking the right questions.
How long does an industrial software design project take?
Most full engagements run three to six months. Published projects have run from one month to over a year, depending on whether the work covers the product alone or also the website, brand and partner programme. Many clients start with one workstream and add the next once the first is working.
Can you work with our in-house engineers and developers?
Yes. We design and build alongside your in-house team rather than handing over a Figma file at the end. Components, documentation and design decisions are written up so your developers can carry on without us, and we stay past launch until people have actually changed how they work.
Where should an industrial software company start?
Most start with a review of the product and its story, and a prioritised list of what to fix first before committing a larger budget. Projects are priced to the scope and your budget.
Do you work with industrial software companies outside Sweden?
Yes. Up Strategy Lab has been based in Gothenburg since 2018 and works with clients across Europe, the US and Asia. Workshops and user sessions run on site or remotely, depending on where your team, customers and partners are.
Know what to fix first
We find where users lose the thread between signal and action, and rank what to fix first. The first call costs nothing, and you leave it knowing what we'd change.
