Long freight flows, simple enough to book and to buy

For freight platforms and sourcing businesses whose product is harder to explain than it is to run. We design the booking flow, the website and the sales story so coordinators finish the job without phoning support, and buyers can see why they should choose you over a directory.

Shipping is a chain, not a checkout

Every mode, route and customer type adds another branch, another document and another party who can hold things up. Designers used to checkout flows flatten all that, and your support line quietly becomes part of the interface.

Sourcing Allies

Product, story and search, settled in one room

Hire three suppliers and you get a site that says one thing, ranks for another and demos a third. We decide all three together, so each one backs up the others.

  • Exceptions only where they apply

Booking, quoting, documentation and tracking are structured so a hazardous-goods field turns up on the one shipment that needs it, not on every screen.

  • Mobile tools that work in the yard

Photo documentation, reporting and setup flows for teams working fast and outdoors, with no time for a tutorial.

  • A reason to pick you over the aggregator

What you are, who you serve and why you win, settled first. The website and sales deck are then written to make that case.

  • Search that meets buyers mid-decision

Search intent mapped to real purchase moments, with content built to hold a ranking once it has earned one.

Sourcing Allies: lead cost from $2,000 to $100

If your deals take years to close, this is what changes once the website, sales material and sales process tell buyers the same story.

Sales lead time: 2 years to under 6 months

At Sourcing Allies, Eric Bengtson now converts one lead in five where it used to be fewer than one in a hundred, and each lead costs a twentieth of what it did.

Freight software that explains itself, from yard to desk

  • Up Strategy Lab first helped us move away from selling at trade fairs and onto a system that finds serious buyers. Seven years later they're still with us, and the work has shifted from generating leads to attracting the right ones. As we've moved toward managing the whole manufacturing journey, from prototype to delivery, they've rebuilt how we present ourselves around the customers we actually want to work with. They keep asking who we serve and why, and the sales conversations we have now are better for it.

What freight and sourcing teams ask first

What kind of logistics products do you design?

We design freight booking and quoting platforms, field documentation and reporting tools, and the websites and sales systems around them. Clients include Blimp, whose photo documentation and reporting tool is used across logistics and manufacturing, and Sourcing Allies, which sources and manufactures products in China for customers in the US and Europe.

Our booking flow is complicated because shipping is complicated. Can that be fixed?

Usually, yes, and without hiding the complexity. We start by mapping the parties, documents and decisions in your customer's real shipping process. Then we design the flow so each exception appears only when it applies. Someone in your support or operations team usually already knows the exceptions that break the interface, so we bring those people into the workshops early.

How do you get warehouse and field teams to actually use the software?

We design for the person on the floor, not the person who signed the contract. Where access allows, we watch warehouse and field users at work instead of hearing them described in a meeting. The result is short setup flows, large touch targets and screens that work outdoors, one-handed, without anyone needing a technical call to get started.

How long does a logistics software design project take?

It depends on scope. Our published projects have run from one month to more than a year, and full engagements usually take three to six months. Many clients start with a review of the product and a prioritised list of what to fix, before they commit a larger budget.

Do you work with our in-house engineering team?

Yes. Up Strategy Lab works alongside in-house teams rather than handing work over the wall, and we stay through adoption after launch. We produce design, brand, copy and front end with your developers, then hand over the components and documentation so your team can keep extending the product after we step back.

Where is Up Strategy Lab based?

Up Strategy Lab is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and has been since it was founded in 2018. We work with clients across Europe, the US and Asia, including sourcing businesses whose customers and suppliers are on different continents.

Start small, not with a big budget

We start by finding where your flows lose users and where your story loses deals, then rank the fixes by what they pay back. The first call costs nothing.
